Dr. Thomas Vaxmonsky completed his undergraduate education at the University of Pittsburgh in 1984 with a B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience. He continued his education at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (1988) and advanced education through residency in Pediatrics and Infant vision at SUNY Optometry (1989). While at PCO he attained High Honors with rotations in Pediatrics, Primary Care and Medical Optometry. He moved to Maryland to practice optometry in the College Park area with his practice specializing in contact lenses and medical eye care until joining the Total Eye Care team in 2019. He maintains the highest level of Therapeutic Optometric licensing in Maryland.
Dr. Vaxmonsky has co-authored in Archives of Ophthalmology and Review of Optometry and spent time volunteering with One Sight providing eye care to underprivileged and special needs children and adults in Prince George's County.
Dr. Vaxmonsky lives with his wife Jen and children Payton, Will and Christianne in Howard County and enjoys many outdoor activities from ultimate frisbee, running, fishing, bow hunting, and recently, mountain biking.
